Sempra Infrastructure announced that the ECA LNG Phase 1 liquefaction project in Ensenada, Mexico, has begun producing liquefied natural gas (LNG). The facility has a nameplate capacity of 3.25 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) and is expected to reach substantial completion in summer 2026. This project will enable the supply of U.S. natural gas to Asia and other markets through a shorter shipping route.
