Site Guidelines

Effective Date: January 1, 2026

At Energy Marketplace, our mission is to provide industry-leading insights that help energy professionals, analysts, procurement teams, and other industry stakeholders find and evaluate market intelligence accurately, efficiently, and responsibly. To achieve this goal, we rely on user-submitted content, comments, and feedback that reflect genuine firsthand experiences and knowledge.

We want to maintain a platform that encourages constructive dialogue and fosters industry-wide improvements. Below are the guidelines all users must follow when posting content on our site.

1. Keep It Professional & Constructive

  • Relevant to the Energy Industry: Make sure your feedback or content relates to energy markets, operations, or industry developments. Off-topic or irrelevant comments may be removed.
  • Facts Over Emotions: When possible, support your statements with concrete details—specific data points, dates, or examples are more helpful than vague generalizations.
  • Aim to Improve the Industry: Offer constructive criticism or insights that help others make informed decisions. Consider including suggestions or context when sharing concerns.

2. Protect Confidential & Proprietary Information

  • No Sensitive Details: Refrain from posting confidential or proprietary information such as undisclosed technologies, competitor pricing structures meant for private contracts, or internal company data.
  • No Personal Data: Do not reveal personal phone numbers, personal emails, or other sensitive data regarding yourself or any third party.

3. Avoid Personal Attacks or Harassment

  • Focus on Content, Not Personality: Critiques should address the substance of information, analysis quality, or market relevance—not personal attributes or unrelated behavior.
  • No Bullying or Defamation: We remove content that is harassing, hateful, or threatening. Keep your feedback professional and relevant.

4. Avoid Inappropriate or Prohibited Content

We reserve the right to remove content that includes:

  • Discriminatory Language: Slurs or offensive terms regarding race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or any legally protected characteristic.
  • Threats or Illegal Conduct: Encouraging violence, promoting illicit activities, or doxxing individuals or companies.
  • Spam or Self-Promotion: Excessive linking, irrelevant promotions, or repetitive posting.
  • Vulgarities or Obscenities: Inappropriate or profane language that doesn't contribute to constructive discussion.
  • False or Misleading Claims: Content shown to be blatantly untrue, fabricated, or meant to deceive readers.

5. Be Honest & Transparent

  • Your Actual Experience: Only post about topics you have personal knowledge of or can support with credible sources.
  • No Faking: Don't impersonate others, post multiple times under different identities, or coordinate false or misleading content.
  • Conflict of Interest: If you are employed by, affiliated with, or have a vested interest in a company being discussed, disclose that relationship if you choose to post.

6. Reporting & Dispute Resolution

  • Flag Inappropriate Content: If you spot content that violates these guidelines, use the "Report" or "Flag" button, or email support@energymarketplace.com.
  • Disputes: If a user disagrees with content's factual accuracy, we encourage constructive engagement (e.g., posting a response with clarifying details). In certain cases, Energy Marketplace may request additional information to resolve disputes.

7. Moderation & Enforcement

  • Our Right to Remove Content: Energy Marketplace moderators or staff may remove or edit content that violates these guidelines or our Terms & Conditions, at any time and without notice.
  • Possible Penalties: Repeated violations can result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban.

8. Updates to These Guidelines

We may update these Site Guidelines to address evolving circumstances, technology changes, or community needs. If we make substantive changes, we'll post the revised guidelines here with a new effective date. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of any modifications.
